Summer 2011 - Day 5

More photos from home.

The old outhouse in the new location, along with the other required junk in the yard, per Central Wisconsin Ordinance.

The garden and clothesline, looking southeast.

Part of the northern garden.

My mom and her flowers in the northern garden.

Looking west southwest at the barn, cowyard, and a big ol' pile of manure with squash growing on it. The burn pile used to be on the left side of the driveway (or drifeway, as we call it), per this photo, but it was removed.

Looking east from the same location as the photo above. The road is State Highway 13/34. There used to be larger trees here, apple trees, but they died, I guess.

Summer 2011 - Day 4

On this day, we moved the outhouse 20 feet away from its original location.

My mother prided herself in not having a dryer at this time.

My dad, rigging the rope up around the outhouse.

The never-before-seen inside of the outhouse.

After the rope was rigged up, we used all of our strength to turn the tractor on and move it.

It turned out that we had to move the rope to a higher location.

On the north side of the house.

The shed and the barn, with my father walking between them.

Summer 2011 - Day 1

My day in Chicago.

The audio tour said these were outside temples to frighten the "enemies of Buddhism" and then said "be glad they on our side."

I thought about making this my phone background.

July 4th Weekend 2008 - Day 3

For day 3, we went where? Napa, of course. We went to a "castle" in Sonoma, and I joined this wine club. This "castle", which is very impressive, was built in the 90's - the 1990's.

We went to other wineries, and I took photos of barrels.

Then R and I went to this place and had lunch. Some guy came in and asked if anyone had jumper cables, which I did have, but I was eating. I also figured that I couldn't be the ONLY person there with jumper cables - I know it's a stereotype that people in Cali don't carry them, but I just assumed it was an exaggeration. When we were done with lunch, we walked out and the jumper cable guy was still there, with the hood of his car open. I felt like a cad because I didn't help out before, but hey, at least I was there.

He's thinking, "Christ, I can't believe I have to get a jump from this ugly-ass Ford Taurus, in Napa."
We went to some art place and got wine, and eventually went back to my place. I had lots of wine. I also thought I had a photo of it, but clearly I don't.

Wrong, I do have that photo, taken the next day.

July 4th Weekend 2008 - Day 2

How do you top a day like the one before? You go to Muir Woods and have dinner at Cliff House, that's how.

First, Muir Woods.

There is a deer, which you can sort of see. Sorry my camera was so bad.

Then we drove down to San Francisco and stopped at this place called 'Cliff House' for dinner.

OMG, I think R was like 16* in this photo.
* No, she wasn't - she's 5 months older than me, and we were both pretty well over 21 during this trip..
