Lake Michigan Summer Vacay 2015: Day 8

I awoke and had some cereal, then photographed a kitty looking cute.

Meow!
I spent some time with baby F as K got ready for lunch in St. Paul with two other Ks. She liked my Blackberry a lot, but when she accidentally activated the voice part, she got a little freaked out. To be honest, the same thing happens to me.

Such a cutie!
Soon enough, we were on the road, and I took this selfie mainly to see my strawberry earrings.

We me up with K and K, and I brought my wine, but I was the only one that had any. One of the Ks held the baby F. Below is the only photo that includes both of them facing the camera.

After this, we went back to K & J's house, were I took a nap. After that, I got up, chatted with K & J, and then was on the road to Wisconsin. However, as I drove past St. Paul, I decided to stop for some final Minnesota Tourism at the capitol. After getting a little bit lost, I found a parking garage and set out to see the sights.

The Capitol building was under construction, but it was still a nice night.
See, I was really there.

I usually see this cathedral from the highway.

I guess Walker never considered this tactic.

Then I was back on the road again for more driving, leaving the lovely Minnesota behind.

I got into Hudson in time to stop at a Culver's for dinner, which I finally found after getting turned around at least twice. I did see downtown Hudson for the first time (I think), which would have been nicer if it wasn't after 9pm.

As I drove, I saw a giant cloud ahead that was lighting up every few seconds with giant lightening bolts. The radio also started warning of a severe thunderstorm and a tornado watch that became a warning. Warnings mean that a tornado has been sighted, but with it being night, they weren't completely sure. All I new was that the storm and I were headed for Fairchild at the exact same time. On one hand, I considered continuing on, but then I recalled all the episodes of Storm Stories (or is it Tornado Stories?) that I had recently seen. I wrote up a narritive for the beginning of my story, about how I heard the warnings, but figured that I would be okay. However, I really, really did not want to be in such a story, so I exited the highway at the first Eau Claire exit. The first hotel I stopped at had no vacancies, and I may have stopped at a second. However, in the end, I was able to get the very last room at the final hotel that I stopped at (of course), and settled in for the night.

The storm was going south, toward the red line, which is the road I was going to be on.
